Son of Ella and Alexei. Born on the 8th day of Av (6.8.2003) in Jerusalem. Brother of Michal. On October 28th, 2021, he enlisted in the IDF and served in the C4I Corps. Lieutenant Yonatan Gutin fell in battle on the 22nd day of Tishri 5,784 (7.10.2023). He was twenty years old. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Modi’in. He is survived by his parents and sister.

The Story Behind The Sticker:
Lieutenant Yonatan Gutin was a gifted judoka, with numerous awards and titles, who won international competitions and took pride in representing Israel. Despite his impressive achievements, he remained humble; he would blush when people spoke of his victories and always saw them as just another step on the long path of hard work.

Due to injuries sustained as an athlete, he was assigned a low military profile, and he fought to raise it back to serve as a combat communications officer. His struggle was successful, and he attended officer training, graduating with distinction.

On the morning of October 7th, Yonatan was called up to rescue the residents of Be’eri. The deputy company commander, wanting to ensure the young, rather inexperienced officer understood the mission’s gravity, asked him, “Are you sure you want to go in?” Yonatan replied: “I’m with you all the way bro.” This sentence was chosen for the sticker, illustrating his spirit of camaraderie and sacrifice for the country and love of the country.
