Son of Yafit and Yaron. Born on the 28th day of Adar 5,764 (21.3.2004) in Herzliya. Brother of Omri. On August 15th, 2022, he enlisted in the IDF and served in the Givati Brigade. Sergeant Lior Siminovich fell in battle on the 16th day of Heshvan 5,784 (31.10.2023). He was nineteen years old. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Herzliya. He is survived by his parents and brother.

The Story Behind The Sticker:
Lior was a one-of-a-kind person, radiating light, joy, and a smile that never left his face. He was warm, funny, and compassionate, always ready to listen and help. Lior loved sports, from judo to football, and was a devoted Bayern Munich fan. He stood out for his wisdom, optimism, and his unique ability to be a good person, valued by everyone who knew him. In high school, Lior majored in Physics and Information Systems and excelled academically.

Lior dreamed of becoming a combat soldier and enlisted in August 2022 in the Givati Brigade. He completed the combat training course and joined the Tzabar Battalion, where he served as a skilled, professional, and highly motivated soldier. A few days after the ground incursion into Gaza and intense combat with terrorists, an anti-tank missile struck his armored personnel carrier (Namer) and killed Lior along with ten other soldiers from his battalion.

The message his family chose to honor his memory comes from something Lior wrote during a time-management workshop in 12th grade. Students were asked to write down the values that guide them, and this is what Lior chose to write: “The values that guide me in life are not to do harm to someone who hasn’t done harm, as long as it doesn’t hurt me. To help others who deserve the help. Take everything lightly, because in the end everything passes and you need to look ahead. Don’t give up, even if it’s hard, on something I want to do. I would like my friends to see me as a funny and friendly person who is enjoyable to be around, someone who can listen when needed and laugh when needed. Someone they remember as positive and always smiling. I would like students to remember me as someone they can turn to for help. There isn’t something specific I want to do, but in 20 years I see myself with a good livelihood and a happy family. I aspire to a life where nothing is ever lacking, and every day is filled with joy and happiness.”
