Son of Firnus and Zemene. Born on the 10th day of Adar I 5,763 (12.2.2003) in Gondar, Ethiopia. Brother of Takala, Helen, Rafael and Eliav. On December 8th, 2021, he enlisted in the IDF and served in the Nahal Brigade. Staff Sergeant Aschalew (Asi) Sama fell in battle on the 20th day of Kislev 5,784 (2.12.2023). He was twenty years old. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Petah Tikva. He is survived by his parents and four siblings.
