Daughter of Svetlana Sima and Moshe. Born on the 17th day of Kislev 5,765 (29.11.2004) in Be’er Sheva. Sister of Daria, Yaniv and Benjamin. On January 24, 2023, she enlisted in the Israel Police and served in the Israel Border Police. Staff Sergeant Shira Chaya Suslik was killed in a terrorist attack in Be’er Sheva on the 4th day of Tishri 5,785 (6.10.2024). She was nineteen years old. She was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva. She is survived by her parents and three siblings.
 

The Story Behind The Sticker:

Shira was a talented ballet dancer—creative, determined, and ambitious. Her friends say she was full of life, had a great sense of humor, and showed exceptional dedication to everything she did. Her Border Police commanders described her as a key figure in the brigade – a professional, dedicated, and supportive soldier who lifted spirits and always aimed for excellence. She was a role model to her peers and admired by all.

Shira dreamed of becoming an officer and pursuing a long-term military career in the Border Police. Through her social media, she inspired many young women to believe they too could be combat soldiers.

On October 6, 2024, Shira was on routine operational duty around the central bus station in Be’er Sheva. Just as she was about to end her shift, a terrorist arrived armed at the bus station and opened fire. Shira courageously confronted the attacker and was tragically shot and killed.

14 hours before she was tragically killed, Shira posted her last TikTok video, featuring a series of photos from her military service, with the caption: “Life goes on.” Chosen for her sticker, her family believes this was Shira’s message to them — to stay strong and keep living, no matter the hardships as she watches over them from above.
