Son of Dorit and Yehoshua. Born on the 15th of Tamuz 5,747 (12.7.1987) in Hadid. Brother of Tomer and Guy. On November 20, 2005, he enlisted in the IDF and served in the Golani Reconnaissance Unit. Itay was married to Dafnie and the couple had a child: Hailey. Major (res.) Itay Yehoshua fell in battle on the 22nd day of Tishri 5,784 (7.10.2023). He was thirty-six years old. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Hadid Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, daughter, parents and two brothers.

The Story Behind The Sticker:

Itay was always surrounded by friends and loved life. Humble and guided by strong values, he consistently volunteered in his quiet and modest way. Itay was a devoted family man and a driven individual who excelled at everything he set his mind to.

On Saturday, October 7th, without receiving a formal call-up, Itay immediately deployed himself to assist in the fighting in the south. He fought terrorists across several communities, coordinated with other teams, and issued directives until he reached Kibbutz Be’eri. There, without hesitation, he confronted the enemy to clear the kibbutz of terrorists and safeguard its residents until he fell in battle.

Itay always loved to help others, to care for and support his loved ones, even when his time was limited. Even during fighting that Saturday, he asked his brother to donate blood and check on family and friends.

Itay sent this message to his friends after hours of fighting in the Gaza Envelope communities. It was later chosen to appear on his sticker, embodying his optimism: “It feels like the end of the world, but we will prevail.”
