Son of Milly and Kirill. Born on the 10th day of Kislev 5,764 (4.12.2003) in Modi’in. Brother of David, Yakov and Ori. On August 16, 2022, he enlisted in the IDF and served in the infantry. Staff Sergeant Ariel Tsym fell in battle on the 2nd day of Iyar 5,784 (10.5.2024). He was twenty years old. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Modi’in. He is survived by his parents and three brothers.
 
The Story Behind The Sticker:

Staff Sergeant Ariel Tsym was a sociable young man who stood out for his ability to integrate quickly and easily into any environment. He had a passion for exploring many different fields and for gaining a wide range of experiences. He learned to draw and sang in a choir, participated in swimming and tennis lessons, and loved playing soccer.

His friends described him as a strong young man, a redhead with a warm personality, a kind heart, and a pure soul. Ariel loved running and planned to run marathons after completing his military service.

Ariel aspired to serve in a combat unit, and in preparation for his enlistment, he joined a military fitness training group. Even when he encountered difficulties, Ariel knew how to overcome them through determination and willpower. Because he wore glasses, Ariel was assigned a medical profile that did not permit combat service. However, Ariel refused to give up and decided to undergo corrective eye surgery in order to raise his medical profile.

Before his enlistment, Ariel joined the Erez Pre-Military Academy in Kfar Yona, where he took an active part in its various educational and volunteer programs and was deeply appreciated by his new friends. It was there that he adopted the quote that was later chosen to appear on his sticker: “Be the change that you want to see in the world.”
